It is that time of year!  Where apple cider is the drink of choice, the leaves are changing, the weather is crisp and pumpkin everything is all the rage.  While you may be enjoying pumpkin-flavored drinks, beer, cookies, pies, etc. it is also time to get your pumpkins for carving!  There are plenty of places in Hancock County to do so, check out some of our recommendations below:

The Homestead Fall Farm

Homestead Fall Farm has everything you can imagine to prepare your home for Fall.  There are pumpkins that you can collect from the patch, multi-colored corn and corn stalks, sunflowers, gourds, a great gift shop, and much more!  Add in on the fun by playing a round of ‘Punkins and Putters’ putt-putt golf, find your way in the corn maze, play on the playground, go on a hay ride or a barrel train ride.

Northwest Ohio Railroad Preservation

Saturday and Sunday, 1 – 5 p.m.

NWORRP is the site of many holiday traditions, and Halloween is among them!  Plan a trip with your family to ride the Pumpkin Train in the weekends leading up to Halloween.  Pumpkin Train rides take visitors to the pumpkin patch where you can pick your own pumpkin, if you’d like, or you can just sit back and enjoy the trip.  Rides are just $3 for adults and $2 for children 12 and under, pumpkins are an additional cost.  For more Halloween fun, plan to visit NWORRP at night for the Halloween Express, a non-scary ride in the dark!
