Easter+Fun=Easter Egg Hunt, and there are plenty to choose from! Kicking off the activities is the Mt. Cory community Easter Egg Hunt at the Mt. Cory Masonic Lodge on April 9. The following Saturday, on April 15, choose an Easter Egg Hunt that is open to the community at the Findlay Family YMCA beginning at 9 a.m., Van Buren State Park or Vanlue Community Park, both of which begin at 10 a.m., or the McComb community hunt and activities beginning at 11 a.m. That afternoon Mt. Blanchard will host an Easter Egg hunt at Island Park beginning at 1 p.m. Make sure to plan on heading back to Island Park on Easter Sunday for a special sunrise service at 7 a.m. This service will be held at the community’s new gazebo and is open to the public.
The Northwest Ohio Railroad Preservation, Inc. will once again host Easter Egg hunts at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and Noon. This event is free and will be held on NWORRP’s grounds, 12505 CR 99. But that isn’t all the fun awaiting you at NWORRP! The trains will be running on Saturday from 1 – 4 p.m. and closed on Easter, but will then be open every weekend through the summer. Also taking place on Saturday is an Awakening Minds painting class at 10 a.m. Participants will be painting an AMA masterpiece for only $10! If you have children at home on Saturday in need of burning off some energy, take them to Flashover Indoor Sports and Fun Center for Open Bounce and Field Play! The cost is $8 for one hour, $10 for two hours, or $12 for the whole day!
Easter is good weather’s first holiday, take advantage of it! Hopefully the Spring weather will cooperate and allow you and your family to enjoy both the city parks and county parks this Easter weekend. The Fort Findlay Playground at Emory Adams Park or the playgrounds at Rawson Park are a great opportunity to burn off some energy. Or, enjoy a walk through Oakwoods Nature Preserve, check out the waterfalls at Riverside Park, and take your furry friend to the Dog Park at Riverbend. There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors this Easter!

Many of your favorite restaurants will be open this Easter Sunday. Enjoy down-home cooking at Bob Evans and Cracker Barrel. Both will open at 6 a.m. and be open throughout the day with regular hours and menus. Fricker’s Wings Sports Bar offers an alternative to a traditional Easter dinner, but delicious nonetheless! They will be open their regular hours, beginning at 11 a.m. with a normal menu! Steve’s Dakota Grill will be open 11 a.m. – 7 p.m with reservations suggested.
