Celebrate Easter weekend in Hancock County with an Easter Egg hunt, enjoying Spring, and giving back. Easter Fun

Easter+Fun=Easter Egg Hunt, and there are plenty to choose from on Saturday, March 31!  Several communities in Hancock County are hosting Easter Egg hunts, so get in the fun.  The Findlay Family YMCA is hosting a community Easter Egg Hunt beginning at 9 a.m. at Riverside Park, Shelter 22 for ages 0 – 10, children will be divided into age groups.  Northwest Ohio Railroad Preservation, Inc. will be hosting their annual Easter Egg hunt and will be open for train rides!  This will be a continuous egg hunt will begin at 10 a.m. and end at 2 p.m. A Train ride ticket is required for Easter Egg Hunt, the cost is $2 for adults and $1 for children 12 and younger.  Train rides will be available until 4 p.m.  Also beginning at 10 a.m. is the annual Vanlue Easter Egg hunt at the Vanlue Community Park.  All ages are welcome, there will be prizes and refreshments will be provided!  McComb’s egg hunt will begin at 11 a.m. at the Cloe E. Greiner Community Park for children ages 0 – 10.  The park will be sectioned into fields for the different ages. There will be prizes and candy for the hunters.  The Mt. Blanchard Easter Egg Hunt will begin at 1 p.m. at Island Park and the Easter Bunny will be in the village that day to see young and old. Be sure to get an egg from the Bunny with a prize for the Mt. Blanchard Community Summit on April 22nd!

Outdoor Fun

Easter is good weather’s first holiday, take advantage of it!  Hopefully the Spring weather will cooperate and allow you and your family to enjoy all the parks, playgrounds, and walking trails this Easter weekend.  The Fort Findlay Playground at Emory Adams Park or the playgrounds at Rawson Park are a great opportunity to burn off some energy.  Or, enjoy a walk through Oakwoods Nature Preserve (It’s a favorite of Visit Findlay blogger Zach!), check out the waterfalls at Riverside Park, and take your furry friend to the Dog Park at Riverbend.  There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors this Easter!

Dining

Many restaurants in  Hancock County will be open for you and your family to enjoy this Easter Sunday.  Reservations are strongly encouraged, and sometimes required, at all restaurants.

Fins Seafood & Grille – 419-429-1900

Fin’s is many people’s go-to Sunday brunch location and things don’t have to be different on Easter Sunday!  Enjoy an elaborate buffet with plenty to choose from!  Brunch runs from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and will focus more on Easter fare compared to breakfast dishes.  See more information here.

Not only can you enjoy a delicious Easter brunch at Legends, but the Easter Bunny is coming too!  An Easter Egg Hunt will begin at 1 p.m., reservations are strongly suggested!  See more here.

Enjoy Easter Breakfast or Lunch at Logan’s Irish Pub!  They will be open for breakfast from 9 a.m. – Noon with their full menu 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.!  See more here.

Tried-and-True

Many of your favorite restaurants will be open this Easter Sunday.  Enjoy down-home cooking at Bob Evans and Cracker Barrel.  Both will open at 6 a.m. and be open throughout the day with regular hours and menus.  Fricker’s offers an alternative to a traditional Easter dinner and will be opening at 5 p.m.  Steve’s Dakota Grill will be open 11 a.m. – 7 p.m with reservations suggested.  Choose items from their regular menu as well as a few Easter specials!
