The parade is anticipated to last approximately 2 – 2.5 hours. Spectators are invited to dress in their best family friendly Halloween costumes and cheer on the participants as they walk (or ride, roll, or drive) by! Downtown Findlay will see many visitors on this night, so plan on coming to Downtown early to have dinner before you enjoy this Findlay tradition! Public parking is available at these locations.
There are plenty of participants in this year’s parade, including six Hancock County bands and many great floats featuring costumes of both the spooky and family friendly variety. If you are interested in volunteering before, during, or after this great event, please do so!
Online pre-registration is required at www.hancockleadership.org/parade. Discounted early registration is available through October 11, 2016. Entries received after October 11th will be at the regular price. Early registration fees are $90 for business/for-profit entrants, and $25 for non-business/non-profit entrants. Any group, organization, or business interested in participating can register online at www.hancockleadership.org/parade.
A limited amount of Preferred Placement packages are available during early registration for $250. The first 20 paid Preferred Placement groups will be placed in the first section of the parade, immediately following dignitaries and color guard.
The parade will begin on East Main Cross Street at East Street. Units will proceed west on East Main Cross Street, turning south on Main Street. The parade will proceed south on South Main Street and end at Lincoln Street. Detailed information about the staging areas, including a Parade Entry Pass, are in the packets that will be emailed to all who register.
Seven awards are available this year. Floats, vehicles and walking groups will be competing against each other for Best of Show, Most Original, Scariest, Funniest, Spirit of Halloween, Flag City USA Award and the John Hancock Award.
