When planning events make sure to check out our event calendar to choose a date with the least amount of conflicts possible or find collaboration opportunities.  Specifically, be sure to be aware of the dates of these significant annual events.

Restaurant Week, Last full week of February
This week-long evening dinner promotion runs Monday – Sunday.

CommunityREAD author event, late March/early April
The culmination of the month-long CommunityREAD, the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library invites the CommunityREAD book to present to the community during a week day.  Typically the author presents to smaller groups during the day with a larger presentation in the evening.

Silver Blades Ice Show, late March/early April
Silver Blades presents a few shows throughout the year, but this show brings high caliber guest skaters to perform as well.

Oiler Music Festival, late March/early April
Put on by University of Findlay Student Government Association, this event features a popular headliner with a regional draw.

ArtWalk, first Friday in May, August, and November
A popular and free event in Downtown Findlay ArtWalk takes place three times a year in the evening.  If you are planning an event in Downtown on one of these dates it is a great opportunity to collaborate.

University of Findlay Graduation, first Saturday in May
Expect restaurants and hotels to be very busy as the University of Findlay graduation is spread out all day.

Springtime in Ohio Craft Show, first weekend in May
A regional draw for visitors, this Cloud Productions craft show is held at the Hancock County fairgrounds with vendors from several states.  It is held on Saturday and Sunday.

Craft Beer Festival, Mid-May
NWORRP’s Craft Beer Festival is held at their property on CR 99 and features craft breweries and wineries from throughout Ohio.

The Findlay Show: Armed Forces Day celebration, third weekend of May
A large event hosted by the Findlay Military Association at the Hancock County Fairgrounds.

Rally in the Alley, Fridays in the summer
Held in Latham Courtyard and organized by the Findlay-Hancock Chamber of Commerce Rally in the Alley features a musician and snacks from a local business.  Begins the final Friday in May, skips the first Friday for Boogie, and continues until August.

Boogie on the Block, first Friday in June
MCPA’s unofficial kick-off to summer, Boogie is held outdoors at MCPA with musicians beginning at 5 p.m. and continuing all evening.

Fourth of July festivities, July 3 & 4
Independence Day fireworks take place at the Hancock County fairgrounds on July 3, followed by the parade in the morning on July 4.  Hancock Historical Museum holds a community ice cream social following the parade.

Village Festivals, July
McComb, Arlington, and Vanlue plan their homecoming village festivals the last 3 weekends in July.

Antique Machinery & Steam Show, first weekend in August
Organized by NWOAMA, this show runs Thursday – Sunday over the first weekend in August and is a large regional draw.

Car Tunes on Main, first Saturday in August
Beginning in the morning until mid-afternoon Main Street in Downtown Findlay will be closed for Car Tunes on Main’s cruise and classic car show.

Flag City BalloonFest, second weekend of August
A very large event held at Emory Adams Park in Findlay, this festival takes place in earnest Friday evening and all day Saturday.

Hancock County Fair, Wednesday before – Labor Day
The unofficial end of summer, the Hancock County Fair is a staple for our community and celebrates our agricultural roots.

Chalk-a-Walk, mid-September
Organized by Findlay Art League, Chalk-a-Walk sees artists take to the sidewalks of Downtown Findlay creating masterpieces that will decorate the walkways as long as the weather cooperates.

Oktoberfest, third Saturday in September
A very large event held on Main Street in Downtown Findlay, this is the largest single-day event in town.

Findlay Air Show, late September
A regional draw, this air show organized by the City of Findlay Airport has become a community favorite event.

University of Findlay Homecoming, September/October
Oilers young and old return to Findlay for Homecoming celebrations, typically beginning on Friday and continuing through the weekend.

Halloween Parade, Tuesday before Halloween
A Findlay tradition, the Halloween Parade brings thousands of spectators to the sidewalks of historic South Main for this 2+ hour event organized by Findlay FOP.

City of Findlay Tree Lighting Ceremony, Black Friday
Held promptly at 6 p.m. the City of Findlay tree lighting ceremony kicks off the holidays in Findlay including Kiwanis Santa’s House, which continues on Fridays until Christmas and celebrates Small Business Saturday, which takes place the following day.

Santa’s House, Fridays from Black Friday until week before Christmas
The Kiwanis Club of Findlay brings this free event for families to St. Andrew’s Church in Downtown Findlay.  Families can meet Santa, go on wagon rides through Downtown, and enjoy snacks from local bakeries.

Mt. Blanchard Christmas in the Village, first weekend in December
The village of Mt. Blanchard is transformed in to a holiday wonderland for this winter festival on Saturday and holiday homes tour on Sunday.
