National Dachshund RaesWith September cooling the weather down, don’t you want to take your dog on adventures with you? We hear you! Adventures are far more fun when an adorable puppy is involved.

And that’s why September has almost become dog month in Findlay. We have a couple of events that celebrate your canine baby and other events that are 100% dog-friendly. It’s time to get out that leash for these events:

Ultimate Dogpawlooza

From September 13-14, spend a weekend full of doggie fun with Ultimate Dogpawlooza. Don’t have a dog? You can still enjoy the fun with a show by the Ultimate Air Dogs. But if you do have a dog, bring your baby out for the two-mile dog walk. The biggest perk of this event? All proceeds benefit the shelter animals at the Humane Society & SPCA of Hancock County. So your participation means that another dog will be that much closer to finding a new home.

Chalk-A-Walk

While this isn’t necessarily a dog event, it is definitely perfect for your pup! On September 20, some talented Findlay artists will be filling the downtown sidewalks with gorgeous chalk drawings as a part of Chalk-A-Walk. Bring your dog out to check out the drawings as they are made and talk with the artists. And no, ear scratches aren’t the only reward your dog can expect. Make a stop at We Serve. Coffee for some dog treats too!

National Dachshund Races

Do you have a dachshund that just loves to run around? Bring your little one to the National Dachshund Races! There are dachshunds of every age, size and running ability. And win or lose, you can be sure that your pup will greet you with a puppy kiss at the finish line. There is nothing better than puppy kisses.

These are just a few of the ways that Findlay celebrates dogs. If you are ready to take your puppy on a Findlay adventure, check out all of the ways you can do it!
