Located on University of Findlay’s campus is a gem of a museum just waiting to be explored: the Mazza Museum!  Featuring more than 10,500 children’s book illustrations, this art museum is not your typical museum.  Of course, you can spend hours looking at the variety of artwork that peppers the walls inside the museum.  But, bring the kids, while the illustrations are to look at the children’s books that are located throughout the museum are begging to be read.  The Mazza Museum is the perfect place to enjoy an afternoon with the whole family.  Can’t make it to the museum?  The museum recently launched a web app allowing you to tour the museum at home!  Plus, there is a section specifically for children, that way they can get excited for future visits!  If you are planning on visiting the museum, you can queue up the tour from the app and enjoy the commentary as you enjoy the guided tour.  Keep an eye out in the App Store and Google Play Store in the coming weeks as the app will become available there as well as on the web.

From books to souvenirs to toys, the gift shop at the Mazza Museum has you covered no matter the occasion!

As if the museum itself isn’t enough, the gift shop is the real hidden gem!  Make the Mazza gift shop one of the first places to look for gifts for children no matter the occasion, whether it be birthdays or christenings, communions or shower gifts, and, of course, holidays.  Featuring an extremely large selection of children’s books, Mazza souvenirs, educational toys, and more, this small shop is sure to have the right gift!

In addition to the Mazza’s regular hours, their events and programming are not to be missed.  Tales for Tots takes place on the first and third Wednesday of the month and offers a short story time with fun themes.  For older children, Funday Sunday takes place one Sunday a month with activities, games, and story time focusing on a different theme each month.  While Tales for Tots has a session for children as young as 1 to 5, Funday Sunday is ideal for children preschool to grade school aged.  And, don’t worry, there are events for adults as well!  The Mazza Museum  holds two conferences each year featuring different authors and illustrators.  These conferences are great for educators but are a great time for anyone who enjoys literature and picture books!
