America 250 Suggestions

The America 250 Committee is planning how Hancock County should celebrate our country’s 250th birthday – and we want to hear from YOU!

In celebration to our nation’s 250th anniversary, communities are encouraged to celebrate contributions to our nation over the years by featuring individuals, industries, and happenings that are unique to their local history. Pieces of our community story that have driven us to the vibrant community we see today can be incorporated into celebratory events, initiatives and educational opportunities.

Members of Hancock County’s America 250 Committee including Hancock County Historical Museum, Findlay-Hancock County Public Library, City of Findlay, Hancock County Courts, City of Findlay, Hancock County Commissioners among others are working on ways to celebrate!

The America 250-Ohio committee has compiled monthly themes stretching over the entirety of 2026 that reflect Ohio’s unique impact on our country’s history over the past 250 years.

Feedback from our community will help us identify historical significances to highlight and how we celebrate them.  Let us know your ideas, big and small, on how our community should celebrate.
