There’s just something about shopping at a local store. There’s always a smile and a helping hand. You’ll quickly find exactly what you were looking for or exactly what you didn’t know that you desperately needed. And you feel like you’re doing your part to support a lively local economy.

DorAnne’s Gifts & Gourmet always exemplifies to me what I think a local store should be. There has not been a time that I haven’t entered DorAnne’s without being greeted by the owner herself. Immediately, I feel like I’m the most important person in the world. And even better than that, is there anything she can do to help me? With Doris’s lively spirit, I feel assured that I have entered the warmest and most welcoming place on earth.

She always proudly shows me what she has in the shop that day. Have I seen her candle bowls? They make a great present and could be a fantastic accessory for my living room. Oh and do I have any kids? Or possibly do I know any that need presents? I should really check out her Grandma’s Corner. And I must be doing a lot of entertaining, right? The dips are to die for, and I should make it my quest to try them all.

I always find Doris’s energy to be extremely contagious. Her store reflects her personality in that I never know what I will find next. Her selection is ever-changing, but she makes an effort to stock local goods. So while supporting a local store, you are usually also supporting a local artisan. It’s a full circle that Doris is extremely to be proud of.

So if you want to experience all that Findlay downtown is and what every downtown should be, you have to make a stop at DorAnne’s for her amazing store and her amazing personality. You won’t regret it.
