This is an opportunity to join plein air artists from around the area for a day of painting the McKinnis farmstead as well as the woods and prairie areas of this beautiful park.

Adult artists working in all media are welcome; there is no registration fee and it is a non-competitive event. This year’s paint-out will again be held in conjunction with the annual Autumnfest, with costumed interpreters and farm animals.

The public is invited to watch artists at work throughout the park, then view finished paintings at the end of the day. In case of rain, there are several places to work under cover. Participating artists may bring one or two small framed or matted plein air paintings to display in the Activity Barn during Autumnfest (some table and floor easels will be available).

Schedule
Noon – 1 p.m., Registration/Check-in at the Activity Barn
Noon – 4 p.m., Paint your choice of 1840s farmstead, garden, orchard, prairie, woods or Autumnfest activities
4 – 5 p.m., Gather in the Activity Barn to share work with other artists and park visitors
