As we are now in the second half of summer, join Hancock Park District and head out to find the insect that has delighted and enchanted children for ages, the firefly. Also known as the lightning bug, it’s neither a fly nor a bug, but a beetle. Find out how they get their glow on and why they flash.

Meet at the shelter at the Aeraland Recreation Area by 8 pm. This event is recommended for families with children ages 6 and up. The event is free and registration is not required to attend. We hope to see you there!
