Fireside Story: Ox-Cart Man
October 16, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
FreeEvent Navigation
Autumn is a great time to bring the kids to the McKinnis House for a fireside story about the Ox-Cart Man. This story is about a pioneer family who gathered up what they had raised in the garden, sewn and built by hand, to sell in the city. Join your friends at Hancock Park District to find out what was sold to have money for winter and how long the trip was to get to the city. This is a Caldecott Medal winning book for kids that they hopefully will enjoy along with a tour of the 175-year-old home and garden.
Meet at McKinnis House. This free event is open to ages 6-10 with an adult. One adult per child or group of children; registration is required by Friday, October 14. Adults do not need to register.
