Healing Foods will be presented at the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library on Thursday, March 14 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in the Lindamood Room. Bluffton University dietetic students Levi and Faith will be sharing recipes and explaining the benefits of foods containing phytochemicals. Phytochemicals are compounds that are produced by plants (“phyto” means “plant”). They are found in fruits, vegetables, grains, beans, and other plants. Some of these phytochemicals are believed to protect cells from damage that could lead to cancer. The presentation will provide an overview of the types of foods that reduce inflammation, eliminate pain and protect against cardiovascular disease. Registration is required.
