Indian Green Cemetery Talks: The McKinnis Neighbors

Join Hancock Park District and take a closer look at those buried at Indian Green Cemetery, located in Liberty Township, just east of Litzenberg Memorial Woods. In this program, you will learn about the neighbors of Charles and Mary McKinnis, pioneers who inhabited the 1847 McKinnis House. These will be residents who lived in Liberty and Blanchard Township in the 1840s & 1850s. After a program in the Activity Barn, participants are invited hike along U.S. Highway 224 to the cemetery to look at their grave stones. Participants must be able to hike the over ¾ mile round trip to the cemetery.
Meet at the Activity Barn at Litzenberg Memorial Woods by 10am. This event is recommended for people ages 18 and up. The event is free but you must register online by 1pm on Friday, July 15th by visiting the link found here. The event maximum capacity is 20 people.
