Life was tough for early Ohio settlers and like all living things, life on the farm will end. Come out to the McKinnis House and join Hancock Park District to learn about mourning and funeral practices of 1847. Join Sarah Fishel in the house as the family mourns the loss of a close family friend and neighbor. Then come over to the workshop where Robert McKinnis will talk about the history and process of making coffins and grave markers.

Meet at the McKinnis House at Litzenberg Memorial Woods at 1pm. People of all ages are welcome to attend. The event is free and registration is not required to attend.
