Native American Longhouse Sugaring Time

March 14 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Free

Program Specialist Chris Allen will tell the Native American story about the time of the Maple Moon and describe how maple syrup was made by the stone boiling method. The story and demonstration will be told outside the Native American Longhouse and then guests are invited to go inside the two-family dwelling. This is the only time of the year that the longhouse is actually covered by grass mats. It is a unique experience.

Meet at the Gatehouse.  This free event is recommended for ages 8 and up with an adult companion.  Registration is required, register by 4:30 PM on Friday, March 11.
