Nature Exploration Station: Aeraland and Fungi

Join Hancock Park District at Aeraland Recreation Area and learn about the history of the park. This quiet rural county park is 74.8 acres and has a picnic shelter, Highline and Upland trails to hike, Goose Lake to fish, fungi and more to see. There will be a variety of fungi on display at the shelter to help you identify what you might find as you head out on a self-guided hike along the trails. One of the flowers you might see is the Harbinger – of – Spring, as well as having a bird’s-eye view of the scenic South Branch Portage River from the footbridge.
Meet at the picnic shelter at the Aeraland Recreation Area by 2pm. This event is recommended for family groups. The event is free and registration is not required to attend.
