FreeEvent Navigation
The Old Millstream Ringers Community handbell choir will present its Spring concert at St. Paul’s Church, 218 E. Sandusky St. in Findlay.
The concert, “A Friend Remembered,” is in memory of and will feature a variety of sacred and secular music written or arranged by Valerie Stephenson. Ms. Stephenson was a friend of Old Millstream Ringers handbell choir founder, Martha Avery.
Avery, a retired music educator and veteran handbell director, founded Old Millstream Ringers in 2000 to promote the art of handbell ringing within our community.
The ensemble is directed by Gail Malloy and includes 13 musicians from throughout the community in the 5-octave choir. The members include college students, retirees, and all ages in between. The Choir will present selections accompanied by Michael Malloy, percussion; and Choir member Emily Thomas, clarinet.
Included on the concert is an arrangement by Stephenson of “Down by the Old Mill Stream” that was commissioned by Martha Avery and dedicated to the original members of the Old Millstream Ringers.
The concert will include additional handbell music arranged by Stephenson and featuring performances by Choir members Emily Thomas and Nora Wolf.
The family-friendly event is free and open to the public; a free-will offering will be taken.
