A free and educational workshop in celebration of Preservation Month with the Hancock Historical Museum and Heritage Ohio!
Mr. David Mertz, former director of the renowned Building Preservation/Restoration Program at Belmont College, will lead a free lecture focusing on common building maintenance and best practices in preservation, including the fundamentals of being a good steward, planning a maintenance routine, identifying water infiltration and assessing masonry concerns.
The following day, Mertz will conduct up to five one-on-one building assessments for downtown historic property owners. During these sessions, he will tour properties, evaluate current conditions and provide expert advice on addressing any concerns. Downtown property owners interested in an assessment must contact the museum by Monday, April 14.
The Hancock Historical Museum is thrilled to provide this free and educational resource to our community in celebration of Preservation Month, our historic spaces, and making preservation attainable for everyone!
