Walnut Dye and Ink

September 25 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

$5.00

If you have a black walnut tree in your yard, then you know they create a lot of walnuts. Learn how to create your own walnut dye and ink and turn your walnuts into something useful. First, we will talk about the tree and how wildlife and people use it. Then there will be a demonstration showing how to create dye from walnuts in the park. After we create dye, we will practice using it to draw and paint designs on paper and then we will use our dye to create a design on canvas bags that can be taken home. Using natural dyes can be a messy process. Please wear clothing that can get stained.

Meet at McKinnis House. This program is open to adults 50 and older.  Register online with $5 per person by 1 p.m. on Monday, September 23.
