St. Patrick’s Day is meant to be celebrated in Findlay! Take advantage of all the Irish fun to be had this St. Paddy’s weekend!
Celebrate at Logan’s Irish Pub
Naturally, we can’t start a list of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations without beginning with our own Irish Pub – Logan’s! Prior to St. Paddy’s Day, Logan’s will be hosting a traditional Irish music session courtesy of Tóraígh An Sonas on Tuesday, March 13. All musicians who play traditional Irish dance music are welcome to join in and all are invited to listen and enjoy! On Thursday, March 15, the Guinness Girls will be back for another year at Logan’s and will be passing out personalized Guinness pint glasses, just in time for the party on Saturday. Saturday morning Logan’s doors will open at 6 a.m. with live music and St. Patrick’s Day celebrations until the doors close at 2 a.m. Enjoy traditional Irish fare, breakfast menu (including their famous Scotch eggs!) until Noon, 20 ounce Irish beers, raffle items and holiday swag, and more at this all-day party!
Take Part in the Downtown Festivities
All of Downtown Findlay is getting in on the Irish fun! Legends will be hosting a Paddy’s Day Party beginning at 8 a.m. with Kegs and Eggs. Live music will begin at 9 a.m. and there will be special Irish dinners beginning at 4 p.m. Alexandria’s St. Paddy’s Day party will begin when they will open at 11 a.m. with live music beginning at 5 p.m. The Bourbon Affair’s St. Patrick’s Day fun will kick off at Noon with drink specials throughout the day and live music beginning at 3 p.m. Take part in a St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl beginning at 7:30 p.m. at The Wine Merchant with stops at DiVine Wine, The Anvil, The Bourbon Affair, and Legends. Wristbands may be purchased at any of the participating locations or online for $5, wristbands will get you drink specials all evening!
St. Paddy’s Day Dining
Outside of Downtown Findlay take advantage of Kegs and Eggs at Frickers beginning at 6 a.m. on St. Patrick’s Day. The green beer will be flowing! Also, take advantage of the holiday and try out Bluffton’s newest restaurant, Bystillwaters Bistro! Choose from two St. Paddy’s Day dinner sittings, 4:30 or 6:30. As a starter they will be serving shamrock mini quiche and a green salad of kiwi, grapes, and apples. The main course will be pork, now potatoes, cabbage, and onions or salmon with white sauce. Dessert will be chocolate chip cakes with Irish cream icing, a macaroon, and mint chocolate chip ice cream. Reservations required, call 419-296-5008.
Family Fun
St. Patrick’s Day isn’t just for the adults – Families need some Irish fun too! Celebrate all nationalities on Friday, March 16 at the University of Findlay’s International Night – in its 49th year! There will be activities, artifacts, traditional dress, music, dancing and international foods from many of the 42 countries currently represented at the University of Findlay. Admission is free to this special event and takes place in the Koehler Center. On Saturday afternoon head to the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library to make a colorful rainbow out of slime to celebrate the holiday! This free event is for kids in Kindergarten – 6th grade and does not require registration. He may not be Irish – but he’s green, so we we will count it! Take in a Findlay High School production of Shrek: The Musical, taking place all weekend, perfect for all ages. Tickets are on sale now at Findlay High School.
