Stix ResolutionWe have come to that time of year where we make a resolution. We plan to be better and to do new things in the new year.

It can be overwhelming. How do we get there? How do we even start?

Luckily, Hancock County has a lot of resources for some popular resolutions. So if you’re dreaming of how to be a better you, here is who can help you:

Resolution: Get active

One of the biggest resolutions is losing weight. If this is on your list, getting active is a great way to get you well on your way towards your goal.

With our great parks system and many local gyms, there are plenty of ways to get active here. But we recommend cross-country skiing with the Hancock County Parks District. There is a beginning class every Saturday when the weather permits, so you can easily learn the ins-and-outs. Plus it can be a great low-impact activity that you can do with friends. So really, if you’re just getting active for the first time, it can be a lot of fun.

Resolution: Eat clean

The other aspect of losing weight is eating clean. That can be easy when you’re cooking and preparing your food at home, but once you leave that bubble, it can be hard.

That’s why you need to make a stop at Stix. The wonderful, clean ingredients make for colorful plates that invite you to dig in. And the unexpected combinations makes you feel like you’re indulging way more than you actually are. So if eating clean is your resolution this year, a meal at Stix will make this resolution easy and tasty.

Resolution: Learn something new

Do you have a hidden talent? Or do you want to just see what you’re capable of? Then try one or more of our local classes!

Stores like Objects of Desire and Charming Finds are regularly offering classes around art and home decor. And other local organizations have classes for your other interests. Just keep an eye on our events calendar and indulge in that new interest in the new year.

Resolution: Quality time

It can sometimes be hard to find time to bond with your significant other. Between kids and all that life throws at us, that quality time tends to fall off of our calendar. If that’s the case for you, then it’s time to bring date night back!

For just $10, Awakening Minds Art has Drop & Date. Over the course of two hours, your kids will have the opportunity to create crafts, while you can spend time getting to know your significant other again. And since it takes place in Downtown Findlay, you’ll have plenty of nearby restaurant options for your date.

Resolution: Be More Charitable

We can all give a little more, whether it’s of our time or our money. But it can be hard to find just the right organization and carving out that time. And if that’s the case for you, being more charitable than you think.

Simply get your morning coffee and muffin. Or maybe get a tasty salad or sandwich for lunch. Yes, it can be as simple as that when you go to We Serve. Coffee. All of their profits go to charity, so your goal to be more charitable doesn’t have to take you too far out of your routine.

What is your resolution?
