Valentine’s Day is here and it isn’t too late to shower the love in your life with great local gifts. Check out some of our suggestions for the man in your life below, and see our complete list of local shops here!
An Artsy Evening
Experiential gifts are always a great route to take. Consider gifting pottery lessons from the Findlay Art League or an evening at Painters’ Pottery this Valentine’s Day! Bonus: You can get in on the fun too!
Make Him Laugh
Laughter is always the best gift, and you will find so many gifts that fit the bill at Objects of Desire Artful Living. From socks with (hilarious) hidden messages, to Duke Cannon’s Big Ass Brick of Soap, to candy with funny notes Objects of Desire Artful Living has you covered with gifts that will have him cracking up. They also have other gifts that will be sure to make your partner happy that are more serious in nature, it is a must-stop for Valentine’s Day shopping!
Findlay has no shortage of sweet treats – and they make great gifts! Are we even allowed to make a list mentioning sweets and not have Dietsch Brothers on it? We could, but we would be crazy not to. Pick up anything here and it is a guaranteed home run, but up your game with a Valentine’s Day special and really hit it out of the park.
Make a trip to the unofficial Sweet Street in Findlay and load up while visiting the neighbors on Sandusky Street with a box of his favorite cupcakes from Jen’s Buggy Whip Cake Art Studio, some brownies from The Bakers’ Cafe, cookies from We Serve. Coffee and some mini cheesecakes from R&J’s Cheesecake Shoppe. And, of course, round off your sweet treat haul with some popcorn from Shirley’s Gourmet Popcorn!
Date Night Out
We cannot stress this enough. Eating your way through Findlay’s wonderful restaurants is the absolute best way to spend Valentine’s Day/every day. Pick up a gift card from your favorite spot, or cover all the Downtown bases by purchasing Downtown Gift Certificates. Elevate the evening out by making sure he dresses the part – Trends! on Main offers tuxedo and suit rentals with a week’s notice.
Date Night In
Sometimes a night in is the best way to spend Valentine’s Day. Plan a great night in and still support your favorite local shops! First, pick up a game from Smarty Pants Findlay (Jane recommends YamSlam, a dice game of chance) and then stock up on snacks. The sweet treats listed above, some Wolfie’s Nuts, or you can pick up SoberDough mix at RooBarb Studios (and maybe a few other gift items too!) for a great night in.
