Home. It’s a place we all yearn to find. It’s mythical in nature. And yet, we cannot be happy until we find that home. Thankfully, Stix has found its home and it is taking full advantage of that.

Stix made a move a couple months ago to a space just steps away from its first place. With the clean lines and bright walls, this new space was definitely a match with the amazing food that is served by the masters at this restaurant. And along with the move came a liquor license, so now that food can be enjoyed with inventive cocktails and hard-to-find beers.

I made my stop in on a Saturday afternoon and was excited to see a full restaurant. Pro-tip: Stix seems to have only grown in popularity since the move so consider calling ahead for reservations.

The menu is still full of Asian fusion, so you can be assured that there is a lot of fantastic combinations that you have never seen before. But for me? I was craving the carby goodness of fries. I added on the tofu burrito bowl for a main course, and I knew that I was about to be very happy.

One of the best parts of the new space is the open kitchen behind the bar. Between that and my cheery waitress, I could tell that there is a lot of joy in this place and that definitely went into the bright and beautiful food.

My fries came out and I was surprised to see just how many there were. This is a great appetizer for three to four people, but I was bound and determined to make it work for just one. With the cilantro, paprika and other various spices, the lime that was served with my fries was definitely needed. It added just the right amount of sweetness. And the garlic aioli balanced all of those flavors perfectly.

Just as I had happily made a dent in my fries, my burrito bowl appeared. This is honestly one of my favorite restaurant dishes and I constantly find myself randomly craving it. First off, tofu is really hard to get right. Stix makes it perfectly. And whatever is in that green sauce? If they sold it, it would become a staple in my house and my spouse would have to get used to the fact that it would go in everything I cooked. It’s that good. The burrito bowl is light, yet filling. You have a great balance of fresh vegetables with enough of that fried taste to make you happy. And in case you were wondering, I did have to abandon those amazing fries, because the burrito bowl is just that good.

I did spend some time looking over their cocktail options, but alas, that will have to wait until next time.

Stix is a great place for a casual date or fun with friends. Bring your friends that don’t mind being a bit more adventurous with their food. This is definitely a place where you will want to share your food so you can get a taste of everything.
