Grant Program Updates

Grant Program Revised for 2021

Our organization, like most others, felt the decline in tourism activities and is planning for a very slow recovery in 2021.  Being completely funded by the Hancock County bed tax, we face upwards of 60% decrease in revenue since the onset of the pandemic and plan to see that continue at the same, if not greater, level for most of 2021.  That said, we must alter our grant program for 2021.  We have returned to our roots where the program began in 2009 as a Co-op Marketing match program.  We have also budgeted a small Tournament Builder Program for our tournament organizers that were fortunate enough to “play ball” in 2020 and give the bed tax a small sign of life.

Below you will find a very basic outline of what the program holds for 2021.  Full applications can be found here.  In addition, we have outlined a number of value added resources that YOUR Convention & Visitors Bureau can provide at no cost.  We encourage you to take advantage of any and all of these offerings in 2021.

Tournament Builder Program

Up to $1,500 in matching funds. Applications are due 60 days prior to event.  Organizations are not limited to a single event submission.  Not eligible for concession/souvenir/awards, wages (tournament director), or raffle items or alcohol.  Can be combined with Co-op Advertising.

Applications are eligible for up to $1,500 with 50% match.

Reimbursements due 60 days post event.

 Applications are due 60 days prior to the event and will not be awarded before that deadline.

Co-op Advertising Grant

To enhance marketing efforts with award amount up to $1,000 in matching funds.  Applications should only include advertising and marketing expenses.  Applications are due 60 days prior to event.  Applications will not be accepted prior to the 60 day window.  If your organization has previously submitted bulk applications please contact Danielle Wilkin.

Applications are eligible for up to $1,000 with 50% match.  Events being held virtually are eligible for up to $250 with a 50% match.

Reimbursements due 60 days post event.

Value Added Resources

  • Assist with creation of a marketing plan and creating marketing assets
  • Add your event to the Visit Findlay Event Calendar for promotion on our social channels
  • Utilize our network of media partners
  • Save money by borrowing our event supplies (i.e. sail flags, cash boxes, signage)
  • Welcome your VIP guests by providing them a Visit Findlay welcome bag
  • Partner with us by listing your event with Ohio Tourism’s publications and online
  • Work with us one-on-one on ways we can use our existing marketing to assist promoting your event
