Mycorrhizal Mushrooms

June 23 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Free

Most fungi are decomposers, but there are a group of mushrooms that feed in a unique way. Mycorrhizal mushrooms gather nutrients by having a mutual relationship with plants. Learn how these fungi interact with plants and what types of mycorrhizal mushrooms are found in Hancock County. Afterwards, there will be a hike to look for examples such as Chanterelles, Russula sp., and the infamous Destroying Angel.

Meet at the Shelter.  This free event is open to those 16 and older, register online by 1 p.m. on Monday, June 23.
