February 22 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm$2.00
Join your friends at Hancock Park District and try your hand at the art of spool knitting. Like knitting or crocheting, it is a historical and fun craft that involves stitching yarn together to create a fabric that can be used to create rugs, socks, and gloves. You will first create our own spool knitters by hammering nails into a wooden thread spool. Then you will take yarn and practice the basics of spool knitting like casting on, stitching, and casting off.
Meet at the Discovery Center. This program is open to children ages 10-13. Register online with $2 per person by 1 p.m. on Thursday, February 22.
