I don’t know about you, but every time I log on to social media it is BABIES everywhere.  Babies being born, babies being announced, babies being adorable.  And I love it.  Shopping for baby gifts is the best because everything, even the most mundane gifts, are adorable.  When my 17-year-old nephew asked for socks for Christmas I deemed it the most boring gift ever.  But when I buy socks for a baby it is all of a sudden the most adorable gift I’ve ever purchased for anyone ever.

The only challenge that comes with babies is buying unique gifts for each one, especially if all the moms-to-be know each other.  Everyone wants to knock the gift-buying out of the ballpark, especially at a baby shower, and you can’t do that while buying the same gift for each child that is due to be born.  While we all know supporting local businesses is important, buying gifts at local stores is just more fun.  You get to chat with the owners while they help you pick out the perfect gift, so check out these local stores for your baby shower gift needs!

First Glance Ultrasound Studio and Boutique

First Glance Ultrasound Studio and Boutique is a new addition to Downtown Findlay but they’ve already made a great impression.  They are filled to the brim with baby gifts and adorable outfits that are sure to make an impression (check out just part of the selection above!).  If you’re looking for an especially unique gift, purchase a gift certificate for a 3D or 4D ultrasound!  First Glance Ultrasound Studio and Boutique also excels in gender reveals, so if you want to do something extra special for a newly-expectant mom and dad in your life plan them a gender reveal ultrasound – which you can turn into a party at the studio!

Rieck’s Gallery

Rieck’s Gallery has been Findlay’s spot for art for a century – literally, they’ve been open over 120 years.  But it should be one of the first places you visit when looking for the perfect gift for all ages, and especially for babies.  Rieck’s has a large selection of wooden toys, teething bracelets, books, blankets, crib sets, onesies, and bibs all with the type of artsy flair and quality you expect when shopping at Rieck’s.

Feasel’s Garden Center & Gift Shoppe

I know, a garden center isn’t the first place you’d think the perfect baby shower gift lies, but Feasel’s Garden Center & Gift Shoppe definitely is.  It comes highly recommended, my son’s favorite teddy bear (Teddy) is from Feasel’s.  Feasel’s has plenty of options when shopping for baby shower gifts.  Books, stuffed animals, toys – they have all the essentials and they’re great quality (Teddy has been on many, many adventures over the past 2 years and is holding up extraordinarily well).  Make sure to include them on your baby shower gift shopping expeditions!

Shimmery Belle Boutique

Shimmery Belle Boutique has already established themselves as a great place to find the perfect outfit, but did you know they carry baby and children’s clothes as well?  Their line of children’s tshirts are soft and comfy, as well as cute.  For a little girl they have adorable dresses and also have a host of accessories for baby – like headbands, bibs, holiday-themed onesies and more.  Also, if you need something for a big brother or big sister Shimmery Belle has plenty of items that would be perfect!

The Black Lab Trading Company

This Bluffton, Ohio store is a hidden gem in and of itself, however it is full of treasures that would be perfect for a baby shower.  The Black Lab Trading Company is eclectic in the items it carries (anything from stoneware to furniture!) but peppered throughout are gifts for any occasion, but especially baby showers.  They have a large selection of books and toys, and also handmade bibs, hats, and outfits from local artists (my favorite is Lil Pumpkin Seed – they have the cutest crocheted football hats, perfect for a coach’s baby!).  You’ll be sure to find what you need!
