At the beginning of the year, I made the decision to go vegan. To say I needed a moment to mourn all of the food I could no longer eat would be an understatement. But when I stopped moaning over all of what I couldn’t have, I started realizing there was a whole lot that I could eat. 

Findlay restaurants have been stepping up their game with vegan dishes, and the food is so good that even meat-eaters are game to try them. 

So if you’re vegan like me or if you just want to get a taste of these plant-based meals, here are some of my favorites in Findlay:

JK Juices

Yes, you know JK Juices for their amazing juices. But did you know there are more ways to enjoy this tasty place?

Give the vegan donuts a try! What is particularly great about these donuts is that they are also gluten-free. So basically, if you are dealing with a dietary restriction, chances are you can eat these. And as a girl that particularly missed the comfort of a great donut on a weekend morning, I’m sure glad these exist. 

Findlay Brewing Company

As you raise a glass to the great beer at Findlay Brewing Company, you might want to raise a glass to having vegan options here as well. 

Here, you can choose between the vegan burger and a vegan flatbread. As someone that usually has to ask five thousand questions at a restaurant, I especially love that they have both of these options marked as vegan on their menu. And you also have the option to get their fries as vegan as well. 

Dougie John’s Pizza

Yes, you read that right. You can go vegan at Dougie John’s Pizza!

If you’re missing that ooey gooeyness of a great pizza, make a stop and ask for them to sub the regular cheese with dairy free cheese. And then you can load it up with all of the veggies you can handle. It’s a great way to get a taste of something I totally missed when I went to a plant-based diet.
