Atlatl Throwing
November 17 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
FreeEvent Navigation
Try your hand at one of the oldest hunting tools in the world, a spear thrower known as an atlatl with Hancock Park District staff. Atlatls have been the primary hunting tool of prehistoric people for thousands of years, and in some cultures, they are still being used today. Each participant will use an atlatl to throw long spear-like darts into our archery targets. As you use the atlatl, Hancock Park District will talk about the history of this ancient tool, how they were created, and how to use them safely.
Meet at Dold Lake. This free program is open to those ages 18 and older, register online by 1 p.m. on Friday, November 15.
