We can already feel it. There is just a bit of a chill in the air. Before you know it, that bit of a chill will turn into frigid temperatures and snow. So get outside while it’s still enjoyable and you can feel the warmth of the sun on your face!
Findlay Reservoir
One of the best places for a peaceful walk is the Findlay Reservoir. The breath-taking view will whisk your troubles away. And the sound of the water and the wind will instantly calm you. Plus, the combination of the stairs leading to the reservoir and the walk around it will provide an excellent workout. Don’t forget to take your camera to capture some beautiful sunsets.
Hancock County Park District
You can’t talk about going outside in Hancock County without mentioning the Hancock County Park District. Two of our favorites are Riverbend and Riverside. In addition to some beautiful scenery, you can take advantage of the fall floats at Riverside. You can enjoy that last bit of warm weather while on the water. At Riverbend, you can find gorgeous trails, as well as a disc golf course and sand volleyball court. And there are many other activities that you can find at the parks throughout Hancock County that will let get outside before it gets cold.
Horseback Riding
Want to be a bit more adventurous? Then try horseback riding at Triple T Ranch. As a part of the ride, you receive a safety instruction, ride in the paddock, as well as a trail ride. That makes this perfect for beginners and those with more experience. And at $35, this is an affordable adventure for the whole family.
These are just some of the ways that you can get outside in Hancock County. We still have loads of festivals and other outdoor activities that you can find on our events calendar. So check it out and then get outside to soak up the sun!
