Hancock County Museums

The Mazza Museum

The Mazza Museum is a playground, library, and art museum mixed into one and is a great place to spend an afternoon.  Children’s books line the shelves around the museum with corresponding illustrations above it.  Go around the museum and find favorite stories to read, and take time to really look at the illustrations.  As if that wouldn’t be fun enough, the Mazza Museum also has an indoor slide and fun room for extra enjoyment.  And don’t miss their monthly events, Funday Sunday as well as Tales for Tots!  Bonus – Admission is free!  MazzaMuseum.org

Hancock Historical Museum

The Hancock Historical Museum is a wonderful place to spend time on a chilly day.  Reopening in February for 2019 the Historical Museum has wonderful pieces that transport you back to the days of the past with all new exhibits.  The exhibit on Findlay Glass is beautiful, the information in the Oxley Government Center is educational, the Miller’s Luncheonette Sign will take you down memory lane, the information on the Underground Railroad and Findlay’s role is inspiring, and the story behind the Historical Museum’s ownership of the bathtub from the USS Maine is interesting, somewhat perplexing, and very entertaining.  Plus, the Hancock Historical Museum hosts several great events throughout the year, including several this winter!  HancockHistoricalMuseum.org
