Raccoon Run Winter Sports Center

Once snow has accumulated to 3-4 inches on the ground the Raccoon Run Winter Sports Center at Riverside Park opens!  The sports center offers snowshoes and cross country skis to rent on the weekends.  If you are a beginner, make sure to take advantage of the beginner cross-country ski workshops the parks offer!  Snow shoeing lessons are available upon request.  If you are an old pro at winter sports, go on a night ski!  The path will be partially lit with luminaries, giving you a whole new view of our parks.

Sledding is must for children of all ages…and adults too!  There are so many spots throughout Hancock County to sled.  You have to check out the Findlay-Riverbend Reservoir, Rawson Park and Island Park.  Ask around and find out what other spots of most people and there are plenty of opportunities for that fun in Hancock County as well!  Make it a true tradition by grabbing a meatloaf sandwich at The Fern or a dark hot chocolate at We Serve.
