Bluffton awaits you.
The Village of Bluffton’s (I-75 exits 142 and 140) 40 interesting Main Street shops and several features provide visitors with an interesting small-town year-around destination.
Its home of Bluffton University, a four-year liberal arts college, on a beautiful wooded campus, as well as Bluffton Hosptial, part of the Blanchard Valley Health System.
Many original European settlers came from Switzerland. A community Swiss historical society has a restored 1840-era farmstead with exhibits open to the public by appointment.
Downtown shopping offers ethic restaurants, gourmet popcorn store, international crafts, used bookstore, bike shop, second-hand clothing and coffee shop for starters.
Annual events include a large Saturday farmers’ market, Christmas holiday folk art light display, antique car show, summer fireworks and fall festival.
Visitors will find an 18-hole golf course, community swimming pool, parks, bike paths, movie theatre, trout-stocked quarry and shuffleboard courts.
Downtown’s 1880’s storefront charm with houses from the same era make the community a great place to spend a day. And, while Washington never slept here, John Dillinger robbed a Bluffton bank in 1932.
