Mt. Blanchard is a picturesque village in Northwest Ohio where the river that flows it puts it on the Ohio byway map.  A small village with friendly people and family owned businesses.

In the summer time families cool off at the Mt. Blanchard community pool and the town boasts three parks.  Shelters in the parks are used for family reunions and other events.  Downtown new sidewalks, decorative lights and benches are welcoming to townsfolk and visitors alike.  A new Veteran’s Memorial will be added at Central Park summer 2017.  Band concerts are held at the new gazebo at Hurricane Park.

In August the village hosts Heritage Days in the Village featuring cars, trucks, and other vehicles 1950 and older.  A chicken BBQ and other food is available as you stroll through a quaint downtown while admiring cars and other vehicles from times gone by.

Christmas in the Village is held the first Saturday of December where the community’s downtown and parks are beautiful with lights and decorations.  A parade, Santa House, kid’s crafts, horse drawn carriage rides, Boy Scout chili and other food vendors, a silent auction with over 100 items, music performances and Christmas contests all highlight the event.  It is an old-fashioned Christmas with family fun.

Recently Mt. Blanchard was awarded the Heart and Soul grant from the Findlay Hancock Community Foundation where the community will use the process presented by the Orton Foundation to find the pulse of residents of the Mt. Blanchard community and surrounding area.  This grant will help the community find our strengths and weaknesses, help with networking with community members, businesses and organizations, and planning for the future. Through the Heart and Soul grant process, the village will have the opportunity to build the community and its leadership.
