Ways to Spend your Easter Weekend
Take a Walk
While the playgrounds are closed, the park is open! Visit any of the Hancock County or City of Findlay parks and celebrate this new season with your household, but please maintain at least a six foot space between yourselves and anyone outside your household. Check out our historic homes self-guided walking tour here for another option, complete a few loops around the reservoir, or walk through Downtown Findlay and check out our murals scattered through town.
Go for a Drive or a Ride
Our county is full of hidden gems, take a cruise and enjoy the scenery! If you’re looking for a specific path to take, check out our Barn Quilt Trail. All squares should be able to be seen from the road, so you can stay safely inside your vehicle while respecting the property owners. Need a little bit of a longer drive? Take in a portion of the Old Millstream Byway – a large portion of which runs through Hancock County.
Or, take the family on a bike ride! Hancock Park District has several great spots to go for bike rides. See their suggestions here.
Go on an Easter Egg Hunt
Spring has sprung and we all itching to go outside! To scratch that itch enjoy a no-contact, self-guided Easter Egg hunt in Downtown Findlay. There are large, paper eggs hidden in the windows of Downtown businesses. Try to find them all! See the Easter Egg hunt here, as well as the boundaries and details. While on that page, scroll down for our Hancock County crossword puzzle.
Enjoy the Virtual Side of Findlay
So many organizations have done a great job of creating or curating virtual classes, playlists, concerts, stories, and more. Pick something as a family and enjoy it together. You can see everything here.
Connect with family online…
…with a little of Hancock County behind you. Zoom has been all the rage during quarantine and we created special backgrounds for you to enjoy! These can be used with any video messaging app that allows you to add backgrounds. See the backgrounds and learn how to use them here!
This isn’t how anyone wants to spend Easter – but we’re in this together. We will soon be back to going out to dinner and spending holidays with family, in person – healthy and happy! See our post on Easter Basket goodies, ideas for Easter dinner at home, and have a very happy Easter weekend!
