As I prepare for my junior year of college (yikes, time needs to slow down!), I like to think that I have figured out what to do to prepare for returning to campus. I’ve spent the last few months getting items ordered and organized, but now that move-in is just a couple weeks away, I only have a handful of things left to do. There are few places in Findlay I like to shop at every year before heading back to college.

It’s no secret that many college students live off of coffee during the school year. Pick up a bag (or five) of your favorite roast from Fort Findlay to brew in the morning.

Which brew(s) will you be taking back to college?

Because I am living off campus this year, I have needed to get furniture for my house. As a college student, I am not able to afford brand new pieces of furniture, nor do I think it’s necessary for a college house to be filled with items that new. Findlay is home to a variety of stores that sell repurposed furniture at reasonable prices. I have found great items at Shabby Chic Boutique and Cammy’s that are perfect for my situation.

Shabby Chic has some great items that are perfect (and priced) for a college house.

It’s easy to feel homesick when you’re away at school. When homesickness hits me, I throw on a Findlay-themed tee from Flag City Clothing and sport it around campus.

Take some Findlay pride back to college with some shirts from Flag City Clothing!

We all have important people we leave behind when we head to college. Before my freshman year, I ordered custom bracelets from RooBarb for me and my best friend to wear while I was away from her and from home.

RooBarb Studios has customized jewelry and some grab and go items, like these cute necklaces.

For the last two summers, before I have gone back to school, my family and I have gone out to dinner at a restaurant of my choosing for my last meal of the summer. I genuinely could not tell you where we have gone either summer, but I can tell you it’s hard to go wrong when eating out in Findlay.   I think I’ll be hitting Rossilli’s or Findlay Brewing Company in the next week, or maybe both!

Don’t leave Findlay without visiting your favorite restaurants, like Findlay Brewing Company!

Leaving home isn’t the easiest thing, but by taking items from places like these to school, I always feel like I have a few small pieces of Findlay with me.
