Arlington is an awesome place to visit, and if you haven’t already you need to (see my top 5 reasons here!) and a big reason to visit is coming up this weekend – the Arlington Village Festival!  See the three things I can’t wait to check out at the Arlington Village Festival.

1. The Parade

The Arlington Village Festival’s Parade is a great way to kick-off this two day festival.  The parade will begin on Friday at 6:30 p.m.  Arlington is battling the orange barrels with major construction on their Main Street, so this year’s parade has a different route.  Check it out here!  And the Arlington Village Festival doesn’t just have one parade – they have two!  Don’t miss the Kiddie Parade on Saturday at 6 p.m. so the kids can get in on the action.

2. Live Music

There is plenty of options for live music on each day of the Arlington Village Festival in the Adult Zone.  Friday night will be Eric Sowers Band beginning at 9 p.m.  On Saturday, Kaitlyn Schmidt and the Move will take the stage at 7 p.m. before Joshua Melton at  10 p.m.  Also in the Adult Zone on Friday you will want to take part in the Cornhole Tournament!  It will begin after the parade and you can register here with $10 per team!

In addition to live music, make sure to register for the cornhole tournament!

3. Fun for Everyone

The best part of the Arlington Village Festival is that it truly is fun for the whole family with activities for all ages.  I already mentioned the Adult Zone above, but there is also a kids zone and teen zone.  For teens there is a neon pool party on Friday, a teen cornhole tournament and rave on Saturday.  For kids there are inflatables, games, and a dunk tank on each day.  Your child can have unlimited fun with a weekend pass for just $20.  Plus, there will be a flag football game at 2 p.m. on Saturday!  If you’re looking for the perfect activity for the whole family look no further than the Blast of Color 5K on Saturday morning.  This color run is free for preschool and younger and $30 for all other children and adults, register here!

But the best part of the Arlington Village Festival is the opportunity to gather and socialize with your neighbors.  No matter what activities you’re looking forward to you’re sure to enjoy the fellowship with friends.  This is just a small sample of what is waiting for you at the Arlington Village Festival, see the whole schedule here!  When traveling to Arlington, don’t forget to plan ahead for the detour!  Looking for other things to do this weekend?  Plan to attend the Flag City BalloonFest!  There are plenty of activities to round out your weekend, check out our calendar of events for everything taking place this weekend!
